Review: SL Clinic Singapore | Nose Threadlift Treatment

Hey guys! This post is gonna be an exciting one because i finally did my Nose Threadlift treatment on 21 December 2018 and i can't wait to share my experience with everyone!

If you guys remember, i did my Nose Fillers treatment back in 2016 and you can read about my experience HERE. Before i start, do note that this is NOT a sponsored post. I paid for the nose threadlift myself and everything in this post are 100% my feelings and wordings.

My nose fillers treatment was 2 years back and ever since then, i've always wanted to try out the nose threadlift. What's holding me back was mainly because of the cost and fear inserting threads into my nose. I finally decided it's going to be now or never, so i went ahead to search for clinics.

I eventually decided on SL Clinic Singapore (Westgate outlet) and book an appointment with Dr. Charlene Goh. Because i went alone for the procedure, i do not have much photos with me! Unlike other blog posts you might find online on Nose Threadlift, i'll try to share more on my experience/feelings during and after the procedure.

If you've read my post on my Nose Fillers, you will know that i'm more comfortable in having a lady to do my procedure. It's weird but for me, i think feeling comfortable with the doctor is the most important part of the entire process. I always made sure to read up on the doctor's profile before booking an appointment and so i made my decision to pay Dr. Charlene Goh a visit! :)

Right before my consultation with Dr. Charlene, i've yet to decide if i wanna have just the nose fillers or a nose threadlift. And i thought, it's best to let Dr. Charlene to have a look at my nose, seek her advise and then make my decision.

I made my appointment with SL Clinic via Whatsapp and they gave me a call one day before my appointment to remind me to bring along my NRIC (most probably was because i'm a new customer).

I made an appointment on a Friday evening at 6:30pm and managed to reach early! I think i was the only person who had made a doctor appointment that day. The only other person who visited the clinic was for their facial appointment. At the waiting area, I was given a form to filled up before my consultation. Since there wasn't any other people, i didn't wait for long.

Before my consultation with Dr. Charlene Goh, the staff had a look at my completed form and had a quick chat with me. It was mainly to understand more about my skin condition and what i was looking for in the procedure.

Dr. Charlene was really nice and i felt really comfortable with her. She had a look at my nose and we agreed that the fillers were mostly gone. After explaining the different effects of the fillers and threadlift, i eventually decided on threadlift! Here's a quick before photo:

I always have to contour like siao for my nose and of course edit the photo like siao also.

After the consultation, i was brought to a room for the nurse to remove my makeup and apply on the numbing cream. The room was like those room you will be at during facial treatments. It was very private and i felt really comfortable while waiting for the numbing cream to take effect.

After applying the numbing cream, they put on a layer of cling wrap over.

I waited for around 20-30mins for the numbing cream to set and then i was brought back to Dr. Charlene's room for the procedure. We took some quick before photos and the procedure starts! I must say their nurse is one of the best that i've ever met. She is really friendly and nice. I told her i'm really scared of the pain and she stayed with us and kept on tapping my hands to distract me during the entire procedure. Dr. Charlene also constantly made sure that i was feeling okay. I felt so loved and assured at that time!!!

So as compared to fillers, was the threadlift more painful?

I injected a total of 8 threads, which is the number of threads people usually need.

Well, for the injection of LA, there's really not much pain except for feeling of the needle poking in.
The numbing cream definitely helped a lot. If you are really scared of the pain, you can always ask the nurse to apply more of the numbing cream and maybe wait a little longer than 20mins for the numbing cream to set more.

The only 'pain' feeling is when Dr. Charlene insert in the last 2 threads. Dr. Charlene explained that it was because 6 threads were already injected in and there's not much 'space' inside. The 'pain' wasn't to the extend of me tearing, but maybe more of a feeling of sharp tightness. But the 'pain' went away quite quickly.

I would say that the threadlift procedure is not more 'painful' than the fillers. Just that the idea of injecting something in might be a little scary. With a little help from the doctor and nurse, this can be easily overcome. Another difference is that with fillers, you don't really feel anything much when you touch your nose bridge. But with threadlift, when you touch your nose bridge, it really feels like there's something hard like a piece of bone inside.

So here's the after photos. I rushed to the ladies to take these photos, which explained the weird lighting.

The red dot is where the threads went in. I didn't dare to put any makeup over it coz i scared infection all these lah.

After the procedure, there was only a slight swelling and bruise due to the injection. Just touch up your make up and you can continue on with the rest of your day. You might feel some discomfort and tightness. Just be careful not to hit your nose or anything! I accidentally hit my nose while changing and it was quite painful! The recovery took around one week. After a week, there's really not much feeling at all.

This is about one week after and you can see there's not much swelling already.

I would definitely recommend the threadlift over fillers. As compared to fillers, i loved the effects of the threadlift much more than fillers. But of course, if it's your first time doing any anesthetics procedure, it's the best to have your consultation done first and then decide which procedure you would feel the most comfortable with.

Went off to Korea with a new nose bridge!

Hit me up with any questions you might have and i'll try my best to answer it! :)
